Its name might be a bit hard to pronounce, but the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti (skall-yet-e or sky-yet-e) is a pretty easy car to drive.

Named after Sergio Scaglietti, the legendary Modenese stylist and coachbuilder behind some of the most beautiful Ferraris of the 1950s and 60s, the 612 was produced at Ferrari’s Carrozzeria Scaglietti plant, previously the home of Sergio’s, in Modena, Italy.

urbanferrari612_20This Italian grand tourer produced by Ferrari between 2004 and 2010 has been replaced by the Ferrari FF in 2011, but here is a pre-owned unit that you can be a proud owner of.

urbanferrari612_19Designed by Pininfarina, the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti is a huge two-door fastback coupe that replaced the 456M GT Scaglietti and this is a 2+2 that can comfortably sit adults in the back.

urbanferrari612_12Its design with the large side scallops and headlights is a form of respect for the customised 1954 Ferrari 375 MM that Italian film director and screenwriter Roberto Rossellini commissioned for his wife Ingrid Bergman, an American-born Swedish actress who has Academy Awards and Emmy Awards to her name.

urbanferrari612_14urbanferrari612_15The first all-aluminium vehicle for Ferrari was the 360 Modena, followed by this 612.

Sharing the same engine as the 575M Maranello, the front-mounted rearward-placed 5,748cc V12 block holds 533bhp and 588Nm at its maximum and can hit 100km/h from a standstill in 4.3 seconds.

urbanferrari612_10Switching the gears with the six-speed F1A semi-automatic paddle shifts, this system is a refined version of the one in the 360.

urbanferrari612_9Although the car may seem bulky, it is nimble on its feet and picks up quickly when you need it to.

urbanferrari612_7Inside, the leather upholstery is lavish and the seats are comfortable.

urbanferrari612_13Registered in May 2007, this particular 612 has upgraded its rims and exhaust system.

urbanferrari612_3urbanferrari612_16Going with a price tag of S$498,800 at Urban Motors, it has about 25,000km on its mileage counter.

For a closer look at it, you may head down to Urban Motors.
