In a public education effort to raise awareness and support for the endangered giant panda by Chengdu Pambassador, the Black and White movement kicks off on 13 October 2012 with “The Panda Rock Out”, a concert and fashion show. Admission will be limited to the first 3,000 adults who show up in black and white at Sentosa Wavehouse.
Starting at 7pm, X Factor runner-up Cher Lloyd, who is famous for her number one debut single “Swagger Jagger”, will be performing with The Voice runner-up Juliet Simms, DJ Enferno (Madonna’s official DJ) and local acts DJ Daniel Yeo and The Great Spy Experiment.
There will be a fashion show of black & white collections by local designers Dresstronomy and DEPRESSION.
“The Panda Rock Out” also coincides with the opening of the Chengdu Pambassador semi-finals for the Asia-Pacific region, where 24 individuals from around the region will compete to become a Chengdu Pambassador and participate in the “Global Panda Protection Tour” next year.
This competition is organised by the Chengdu Panda Base and co-organised by WildAid and Yao Ming Foundation.
