Mercedes-Benz, the international partner for the world’s most prestigious golf tournament
- The best golfers in the world are teeing off for the season opener of Major tournaments at Augusta National Golf Club when The Masters begin from 7 to 10 April 2011.
- Mercedes-Benz is now the international automobile partner in a total of three Major tournaments for the first time starting this year. As an International partner for The Masters, Mercedes-Benz is providing vehicles for all players and selected guests
- Mercedes-Benz Performance Center, a mobile tour in the U.S. is offering golfers a chance to analyse and improve their skills using the very latest technical equipment and trained personnel. The launch of The Performance Center is being held during The Masters with the help of two-time Masters champion and Mercedes-Benz brand ambassador Bernhard Langer.

With the backdrop of The Masters at Augusta National Golf Club, The Mercedes-Benz Performance Center, a mobile golf tour powered by the PGA, is launching with a host of innovate golf teaching technologies aimed at giving golfers a chance to sharpen their skills and to support the PGA’s overall mission to grow the game of golf. Two Mercedes Sprinter vans serve as an anchor for the overall performance center along with high-tech golf teaching technologies for improving important game skills from putting to swing mechanics.
The Mercedes-Benz Performance Center is debuting with the help of PGA professionals and Bernhard Langer, who is demonstrating the performance center’s technologies to local and international guests. After Augusta, The Mercedes-Benz Performance Center plans to visit tournaments on the PGA Tour over the next several months.
Bernhard Langer is also partaking in an exclusive meet & greet for Mercedes-Benz customers. The opportunity to ask the two-time Masters champion questions about his game and success is part of an exclusive programme for selected Mercedes-Benz customers from all over the world, who have the opportunity to experience the tournament, live as spectators.
Mercedes-Benz has been involved in the professional sport of golf since the 1980s. From 1990, it also became the title sponsor of the first professional golf tournament in Germany featuring international participation. In addition, the premium brand from Stuttgart was sponsor of the Mercedes-Benz Championship in Cologne from 2007 to 2009 and Hawaii from 1999 to 2009.
Since 2008, Mercedes-Benz has been the exclusive automobile partner of golf’s most prestigious Tournament, the Masters in Augusta.
As a Patron partner of the PGA of America since 2010, the the Mercedes-Benz star is also prominently represented at the PGA Championship and the Senior PGA Championship, as well as the 2012 Ryder Cup. This year Mercedes-Benz’s commitment to golf increased with a new partnership at The Open Championship. Furthermore, Mercedes-Benz also supports a variety of both professional tournaments around the world including The Dubai Desert Classic.
In amateur golf, Mercedes-Benz is represented with the MercedesTrophy, the company’s own global premium tournament series for amateurs, which in 2011 is taking place for the 22nd time. More than 65,000 players, in more than 60 countries, tee off each year in the MercedesTrophy. The aim of participants is to reach the MercedesTrophy World Final at the end of September, at which the best individual players and the best team are honoured in Stuttgart, the “birthplace of the motor car”, and at the same time receive an exclusive insight into the world of Mercedes-Benz.
