Mok pairs up with Japanese ace Hamaguchi

Hiroshi Hamaguchi has announced his participation in the GT Asia Series. The sensational Japanese driver will be paired up with reigning Champion, Mok Weng Sun in the McLaren 12C beginning in Okayama this weekend.

The 36 year old driver was unable to sign on for the year for health reasons but has confirmed his first appearance with Team Clearwater Racing in the upcoming race.

The Super GT Series regular first participated in the GT Asia Series with Hitotsuyama Racing in an Audi R8 LMS during the 2011 season. His knowledge of the Suzuka circuit proved to be a great advantage claiming pole position and winning both rounds held there.

Global lubricant specialist, Motul, formed a new technical partnership with the most successful South East Asia GT racing team of the last decade, Clearwater Racing.

The team will in 2013 be the first to race in Asia with the highly successful McLaren MP4-12C GT3, and the new agreement extends Motul’s involvement with the prestige sportscar marque following their existing partnerships with Hexis Racing and ART Grand Prix in Europe.

Porsche overpowers McLaren and Lamborghini in a rain soaked race

It was a tremendously exciting season opener for the 2013 GT Asia Series held today where Peter Li Zhi Cong claimed the win in his Porsche 997 GT3 R on a very wet Twin Ring Motegi circuit.


He was followed across the line by reigning Champion, Mok Weng Sun in the McLaren 12C GT3 in second and Tunku Hammam, who paired up with Ro-Charlz in Team Clearwater Racing’s Lamborghini LP560 GT3 in third.

Exciting lineup geared up for GT Asia Series 2013 Season starter at Motegi

The 2013 GT Asia Series season is looming near with the first two rounds scheduled to be held at the famous Twin Ring Motegi, Japan, this 11-12 May 2013.

“To date, there are confirmations from teams and drivers from Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Japan, Macau SAR, Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka and Taiwan” said Paul Yao, CEO of Supercar Club Hong Kong.

It is looking to be another exciting season for the GT Asia Series with the return of reigning Champion, Mok Weng Sun with Team Clearwater Racing. Championship runner up Peter Li Zhi Cong is also signed on for the season and with one outstanding year under his belt, will be looking to make another great splash in the Series to fight for the Championship he was close to winning in 2012.

Team Clearwater Racing chooses the McLaren 12C GT3 for GT Asia 2013

Team Clearwater Racing, a Singapore-based GT racing team, unveiled its McLaren 12C GT3 racing car on Saturday. Making a brief stop in Singapore before it goes off to prepare for the 2013 GT Asia season, the team is making a switch to the McLaren in aim of defending both the Team and Driver championship titles in the GT Asia series.


Clearwater Racing started in 2007 as Team Porsche Club Singapore Racing, as the team used to race Porsche race cars exclusively. In 2010, the name was changed to Clearwater Racing when they got their first non-Porsche race car, the Lamborghini Gallardo LP-600 GT3. In 2011, they also became Ferrari’s official race team in Southeast Asia with the acquisition of three Ferrari 458 GT3 race cars.
