SKC Round 5: Through Cheryl Tay’s eyes

Written by Cheryl Tay on . Posted in Cheryl Tay Blog | Blog Post of Cheryl Tay

My race report for the Singapore Karting Championship will be published soon – but meanwhile here are some sneak peeks:

I met Mr. Maximilian Ahme, who is here in Singapore on vacation.

He is the project engineer and leader for the BMW M5,

responsible for the testing and development.

Awesome job I say!

Yuey Tan (the one on the far left with the mike),

the ambassador and commentator for SKC, welcoming me to the track.

To his left is Malaysian racing driver Aaron Lim and then Benjamin Tan,

managing director of SKC title sponsor AutoInc.

Senior karter Saravanan Rajakumar is all serious as he prepares himself for the final race

(I stuck the camera in his face without warning to get this shell-shocked priceless expression!)

Dark clouds gathered before the final races started

but it only started to pour halfway through the Senior race.

The race was then red-flagged and drivers were allowed to come in and change tyres.

Chaos in the pit lane!

After all that commotion in the pits, the Seniors continued with the race:

After the Senior final race was concluded,

the Masters final race up next was delayed until the rain cleared up.

But shortly after starting the Masters race, the rani came down even harder!

It was a SUPER WET race for the Masters category:

What an experience and what a way to wrap up the 2011 SKC season!
