PERFORMANCE MOTORS LIMITED ANNOUNCES INITIATIVE TO MAKE THE ARTS MORE ACCESSIBLE TO STUDENTS
‘Share the Arts’ Student Ticket scheme launched as PML signs on as leading corporate sponsor of PANGDEMONiUM!

Singapore, 26 September 2011 – Performance Motors Limited (PML), the distributor of BMW cars and BMW motorcycles in Singapore, is delighted to announce that it has signed on to become the leading corporate sponsor of home-grown theatre company PANGDEMONiUM! Productions Pte Ltd. The sponsorship will see PML support PANGDEMONiUM!’s operations as a company over a 12-month period and reinforces its drive to promote the local arts and entertainment scene.

A key initiative of the partnership is PML’s ‘Share the Arts’ Student Ticket to encourage more students in Singapore to be exposed to, and to learn to appreciate the arts. The initiative entitles students to purchase two tickets to a PANGDEMONiUM! production for the price of one, if they bring along a friend to introduce them to a theatre performance.

Said Mr Say Kwee Neng, Managing Director, Performance Motors Limited, “Through our support of home-grown theatre company PANGDEMONiUM!, which has and will continue to build up a body of work that will resonate with audiences on many levels, PML hopes to share the arts with more people and make it more accessible to students.

“We started the ‘Share the Arts’ Student Ticket initiative back at the start of the year for the production ‘Closer’ and we were very encouraged with the response levels from students as all the tickets allocated under the scheme were quickly spoken for. From that success, we hope to see more young minds enjoying theatre through this arts scheme beginning with ‘Dealer’s Choice’ which will kick-off on 29 September at the National Library’s Drama Centre Theatre as well as another upcoming production titled ‘Spring Awakening’”, he added.

Said Adrian Pang, Artistic Director, PANGDEMONiUM! Productions Pte Ltd, “PANGDEMONiUM! strives to create theatre that is entertaining, stimulating, of the highest artistic standards, and for all generations. We believe that students are a very important part of our audience, because if we show them that theatre can be inspiring and meaningful from a young age, and that their lives can be enriched through theatre, they will be encouraged to be supportive of the arts for many years to come.”

He added, “The PML “Share The Arts” Student Ticket scheme is brilliant because by making tickets more affordable to students, it is making our productions even more accessible to young audiences. This scheme truly embraces the meaning of “sharing the arts” and PANGDEMONiUM! is very grateful to PML, as much as the students who came to see ‘Closer’ and who are coming to see ‘Dealer’s Choice’!”

Students who are keen to purchase tickets for ‘Dealer’s Choice’ under the ‘Share the Arts’ Student Ticket scheme can sign up on PML’s website ( http://www.pml.com.sg/) after which a confirmation note will be sent to each successful registrant. Students will then have to bring along their student ID to any SISTIC outlet to enjoy the 2-for-1 deal.
