New Balance Minimus Ionix 3090V2
My eyes are trained to spot pink from a mile (or more) away and when my eyes first set on this pair of bright pink New Balance shoes, I couldn’t resist asking to have a look at them. I was at the office of the PR agency that handles New Balance. Anyway, this range is the Minimus Ionix 3090v2 launching in July, but lucky me got a preview set to review! In pink no less…
This is the second generation and it serves as a light running shoe or a gym companion, though I have to take them off when I do my squats. I will be back with a more thorough review of it in a few weeks, after I’ve worked out with them longer!

NEW BALANCE ADDS AN UPDATE TO THE INNOVATIVE MINIMUS COLLECTION
SINGAPORE, July 2013 – For Fall 2013, Boston-based New Balance will add to the Minimus collection with the introduction of the edgy NB Minimus Ionix 3090v2. This update continues to push the envelope with vivid designs and superior technical
features from the first edition but with key improvements. The NB Ionix running shoe launches in July 2013 and the suggested retail price is $155.
The NB Ionix design continues to push the limits of what an everyday running shoe can be, by meeting a runner’s needs both for performance and aesthetics. The inspiration for the original 3090v1 was the geometry of a molecule, the smallest physical unit of an element; this remains a focal point of the 3090v2 design.
The 3090v2 sits on a full length bed of REVLite that enables the brand’s design team to eliminate traditional foam without sacrificing durability, cushioning or support. A Ground Contact EVA frame surrounds the REVLite and gently but securely cradles the foot and allows for maximum deflection upon impact. The 3090v2 lowers the heel to forefoot drop to 4mm, encouraging a more natural foot strike but with exceptional cushioning intact.
The upper on the 3090v2 remains lightweight and breathable featuring an extremely thin no-sew overlay film that locks in the foot. Energetic, bold use of color with a distinct technical design is evident at first glance with the 3090v2, making sure you get noticed as you push through your workout.
The 3090v2 is perfect for the athlete looking to go fast! It is a lightweight running shoe that offers the natural motion experience with a little more substance underfoot. Grounded in technical superiority and aggressive with performance, the 3090v2 will help any athlete train harder whether logging on miles or hitting the gym. New Balance, headquartered in Boston, MA has the following mission: Demonstrating responsible leadership, we build global brands that athletes are proud to wear, associates are proud to create and communities are proud to host.
