Connecting everyone with a passion for photography, the People’s Association (PA) Lifestyle Masters Series by the PMET Division is conducting MY NEIGHBOURHOOD GEMS! – A Photography Journey on 14 April from 2.00pm to 8.30pm at Buona Vista Community Club (CC). Unlike the typical photography event, this is an integrated community bonding effort with expert photographer sharing, a photo competition as well as a valuable networking element. Catering to all levels of photography, anyone with an interest is welcome to join.

MG (NS) Chan Chun Sing, Acting Minister for Community Development, Youth and Sports, and Minister of State for Information, Communications and the Arts will be joined by professional photography experts John Arifin, Joseph Goh and Justin Ng, whom participants can learn practical tips and real-life insights from. Beyond the sharing session, participants will have the opportunity to capture their best shots of hidden gems in the Buona Vista neighbourhood and share their inspirations with the community over networking with good food and wines after. The most inspiring shots will be rewarded with attractive prizes such as the Canon Powershot G1X (worth $999) and $888 cash for the winner.

MG (NS) Chan Chun Sing, Acting Minister for Community Development, Youth and Sports, and Minister of State for Information, Communications and the Arts, says, “Many people don’t realise the strong power of communication through photos. Photography transcends all language and cultural barriers and it is around us all the time – in newspapers, magazines, websites, posters, books and more. Nowadays people take photos with their mobile phones and we use photographs for so many different reasons. Other than getting the chance to learn from three experts in one evening, the PMET Division by PA is also raising the awareness of how inspiration can be found within our everyday communities.”
