The MINI brand is once again making an impression in an exhilarating and literally colourful way by becoming the official car for the first Colour Run in Singapore.

Colour Run, MINI

First launched in the United States in early 2012 to promote health and happiness, the Colour Run has since taken the world by storm and is projected to have up to 1.8 million participants globally by the end of 2013. The Colour Run has also proven to be a hit in more than 50 cities worldwide, including in countries like Australia, Brazil, UK, and now finally in Singapore.

Around 16,000 participants are expected to take part in the Singapore race in Sentosa on 17-18 August this year, which will see volunteers throwing varying bright coloured powder at the runners to mark their completion of every kilometre across the 5km run.

“The finishing line will definitely be a colourful sight! MINI is extremely excited to be the official car of the Colour Run, which is quite different from a conventional race,” exclaimed Mr Preecha Ninatkiattikul, Head of MINI Asia.

“Likewise, MINI is not a normal car. Not only does it offer a dynamic driving experience through its hallmark go-kart handling, it literally has a life of its own. Like a friend, a specially coloured MINI Stratford will also be starting off at the race alongside the Singapore runners in this local rendition of the Colour Run.”

Apart from the decorated MINI Stratford, there will also be a MINI Coupe and a MINI Hatch on display at the race that will be just as colourful.

This is the second time MINI Asia has been chosen as the official car this year for a race event with a twist. The first was the Men’s Health Urbanathalon, a 14km urban obstacle course that saw a MINI Countryman replica perched atop a cargo-net obstacle.
