Mercedes-Benz introduces the anti-conformist – the new CLA-Class
Mercedes-Benz has on Wednesday evening introduced an anti-conformist to its family – the new CLA-Class. Setting a new dynamic direction, the new CLA challenges the old visual conventions, and breaks all the rules – even at a standstill. This Concept Style Coupé from Mercedes-Benz features cutting edge, avantgarde design, while continuing to leverage on its strong heritage of superior performance and industry-leading safety innovations.
“Combining head-turning coupé styling with the practicality of a compact saloon, we are confident that the new CLA is set to establish yet another new segment in the automotive world with world-leading aerodynamics,” said Mr Wolfgang Huppenbauer, President & CEO of Mercedes-Benz Singapore. “The new CLA is simply breathtaking, from the distinctive diamond grille to the sporty twin tailpipes. It is a car that does not confuse mid‑range with mediocrity. Its powerful design underscores the sporty side of the Mercedes-Benz brand.”
The CLA launch party held at Barraka Restaurant at Robertson Quay on 31 July received overwhelming support from over 300 exclusive guests, including fans of Mercedes-Benz and media friends.
Guests were treated to an extraordinary evening with the new CLA 200 with AMG line and CLA 200 with Urban equipment line on display, set against a décor reflecting the stylish essence of the CLA – with an edgy vibe, state-of-the-art lighting, tape art and interactive projection. Guests were evidently taken in by the gently sloping roof contours and the pronounced, hallmark curvature of the rear window that provide the CLA with a coupé-style character.
For this one night only, party-goers took the lead of the style meister to experience the liberation of an “anything but ordinary” life, bouncing to the beats of DJ Amy Van de Beuken while celebrating with delectable tapas and wine. It was clearly an eventful evening not to be forgotten.
Across the city was another launch party held concurrently at the Red Sea Gallery in Dempsey Hill, where guests were greeted with a twin display of the new CLA 200 with AMG line and CLA 200 with Urban equipment line. If the electrifying vibe in the air and pulsating beats by DJ extraordinaire Andrew T were anything to go by, the anti-conformist of the Mercedes-Benz family certainly brought out the Corporate Rockstar in more than 150 fans of Mercedes-Benz, who were pampered with exquisite canapés and wine.
