FD 2011 champion Daijiro Yoshihara looking ‘sharp’!

Fresh from winning the 2011 Formula Drift Pro Championship in USA, Daijiro Yoshihara is here in Jakarta this week to judge Formula Drift Indonesia. Greeting him with a “Hi champion!” when I first saw him in the morning, I was surprised to receive a lacklustre response from him.

Looking weary with somewhat sunken cheeks, the first thought that came to my mind was, “Whoa, this boy lost some weight!”

I mean, I watch every episode of Behind The Smoke on GT Channel but he didn’t look this thin in the videos…

True enough, Dai shared that he lost 10 pounds – 5 pounds from doing a 10-day detox/cleansing programme (where he took a dump something like 15 times a day) and another 5 pounds shed from working out.

Another reason for his less-than-usual-cheery self might be his new incognito orthodontic braces (or lingual braces) – the kind that is “hidden” and put behind the teeth out of sight, not affecting your usual smile. He just put them on two weeks ago and hence is still feeling a lot of pain in his mouth, so ingesting liquid food for the time being is recommended – probably causing him to lose even more weight, without meaning to.

He doesn’t like having his face this sharp though, it makes him look old he feels!

“Did I lose a bit too much?” he asked, “Maybe I should stop working out so much huh? Do I look older this way? I do? Shitttttttttttt….”

Time to pile up on the CREME BRULEE, Dai? *winks (watch Behind The Smoke on GT Channel to find out what this joke is about)
