As part of the Venzuelan Embassy’s 5th July Independence Day celebrations, the People’s Association (PA) World Culture Series by PMET Division organised COLOURS OF VENEZUELA in partnership with the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in Singapore on 25 August 2012 at Cairnhill Community Club (CC).

coloursofvenuezuela2_1This is the second time that the Venezuelan Embassy is collaborating with the PMET Division for a World Culture Series event – the last collaboration was the Venezuela Friendship Day held on 23 July, also at the same venue.

coloursofvenuezuela2_3Officially called the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, the country lies on the northern coast of South America. Venezuela holds great variety and is greatly undervisited by international travellers, hence the objective of this event is to introduce Venezuela to PMETs in Singapore.

coloursofvenuezuela2_6Venezuela sits on one of the longest Caribbean coastlines in South America, hence having wonderful beaches and lots of water sports and adventures such as hiking, snorkeling, scuba diving, kitesurfing, windsurfing, paragliding and more.

Rich in culture and colours, Venezuela has many salsa clubs, regional festivals and arts and crafts for you.

COLOURS OF VENEZUELA screened with a movie of a woman’s journey from lower to middle class, allowing the audience to get glimpses into Venezuelan life and some of the country’s stunning travel destinations.

Venezuelan Ambassador His Excellency Alfredo Toro Hardy was at the event to address the audience and share interesting anecdotes about his country.

COLOURS OF VENEZUELA is an initiative of the World Culture Series, a string of cultural awareness and networking events that the PMET Division organizes with the various CCs to provide a platform for Singaporean culture and travel enthusiasts to come together as a community to make friends as well as share ideas and activities.
