Change of course for Formula Drift Irwindale

Written by Cheryl Tay on . Posted in Cheryl Tay News | Latest Industry News

It seemed like just yesterday that I was there at Long Beach for the opening of the Formula Drift USA 2011 season. But 7 rounds on and next weekend will be the eighth and final round of the FD season!

Of course it’s not the end of FD as FD Asia will pick up from there with Indonesia at the end of October, Malaysia in mid-December and Thailand in February.

Anyway, the point of this post is to announce that the organisers have decided to change the competition course for the last round of FD. According to, this new course is longer, faster and will be much more entertaining to the fans while bringing new challenges to the drivers and teams.

2011FDirwindaleI can’t wait to watch it and wish I was there to catch it ‘live’! Never mind, there’s always where you can catch the action from the comfort of your own bed in your PJs.

Will Daijiro Yoshihara be crowned the 2011 FD champion? *fingers crossed*
