“It feels great, I cannot believe it right now. After the qualifying we thought we will lose the Championship”. Auer started the first two races in fourth and finished both on the podium in second, leaving him to start from second for the last two races.

He had a good pace but was not fast enough to catch up to the eventual race winner, Ikhwan.

“It’s a really nice feeling, its really important for my future. I had to win this season and now I can see what I will do in the future”.

Auer took some time to process the fact that he was the Champion and was calm as he got out of his car finishing the 18th race of the year in third behind Afiq Ikhwan and Nabil Jeffri.

The final race of the season also saw race winner, Ikhwan creating history claiming his fourth back-to-back win and his tenth win of the season. He finished the season second with 285 points.

Ikhwan was filled with mixed emotions during the post race press conference, obviously elated with the wins although slightly disappointed with not winning the Championship. “First of all thank you to my team, they have done a fantastic job. Thank you to Petronas for sponsoring me.

“Ten wins I am happy with that even though we didn’t win the Championship. We have proved to people that we are a strong team, we are very competitive and we can win.

“I am disappointed with myself, we should have won the Championship, but that’s racing” ended Ikhwan.

Nabil Jeffri finished second and was happy with the result. “I want to thank my team, Petronas Mofaz Racing for doing such a good job the whole season and my sponsor Petronas, without them I wont be here today.

“I did pretty much what I am expected to do, which is to collect as many points for the Championship”. Jeffri completes the season third on the Championship points table collecting a total of 186 points with one win.
